Says Sculley: “I was called the high wire act at Pepsi because I was always put in jobs I was unqualified for. When I was given that job it was largely because they didn't have anybody else.”
His time with Steve Jobs

Changing the world
John Sculley speaks with Bob Collymore, CEO Safaricom, about his book Moonshot and the role of business in changing the world. Sculley's time with Bill Gates and Steve Jobs was an eye opener for him and he talks about the completely different strategies of those two brilliant people. Says Sculley: “Never once did we have a conversation about making money. They were there because they wanted to change the world.”
Sculley goes on to discuss Moonshot today. His advice to business leaders is to focus on not just the business plan, but the customer plan. Ask yourself - what's the big customer problem I can solve in a very unique way, and how can I make the experience of solving that problem exceptional.
